Many of the same people in our world that argue against capital punishment for crimes also are in favor of the “right to die” and “assisted death” for the
terminally ill. Doesn’t it seem strange that the ungodly want to play god on both sides of such arguments (not to mention being “comfortable” with
murdering unborn or just born infants in the name of human “rights”).
A few years ago in Queensland, Australia, there was an openly anti-Christian, terminally ill woman. She set about to liberalize Australia’s laws and
offered herself and her own terminal cancer as proof of the need to end suffering. At one point she changed her mind for a while but later returned to
her campaign to end her suffering. After her much publicized “mercy-killing” death an autopsy showed her to be cancer free and only a simple surgery
away from a “normal” life. Australia’s own “Dr. Death” admitted to knowing her “true” condition. Was this a case of “human rights” or, as it now appears,
a manufactured campaign and death for a humanist political goal? Was it really just the suicide of a mentally unstable person? Most of all, does this
whole situation not point out the danger of our playing god?
For several years now some scientists have speculated that Mars once experienced a global flood. In part their theory is base on the estimate of the
planet containing enough ice that, if melted would cover the planet to an average depth of up to 1/2 mile. Odd isn’t it? For those same scientists deny
the physical evidence of a global flood here on earth where there’s enough water to cover our planet to a depth of 1.5 miles! Why? Because that would
go along with the Biblical account of Noah who actually lived and observed such a flood here.
The idea of playing god with cloning appeals to many people. But one of the researchers who “created” Dolly the sheep published a review of all the
world’s cloned animal. Every one of them is genetically and physically defective in some way. Could it be that man playing god is missing something? In
order to solve some problems with the “big bang” theory, some physicists are now suggesting that the speed of light was much faster in the past. A part
of their “proof” includes analysis of light from distant quasars that in 1999 showed the speed of light to be different from what it is today.
The only problem? When this idea was first proposed a few years ago by Bible believing physicists (as a supporting fact for God’s account of a recent
creation), it was rejected immediately! So why do non-believers want to believe it now? And how will they manipulate the facts to again reject God?
It is proclaimed by unbelievers doing DNA research that much (if not most) of our DNA is “junk DNA.” Some even claim that 99 percent of the human
genome is useless evolutionary leftovers. That, of course, proves the nothing to man theory of evolution. Well, they wish! What’s interesting is that, as
research continues, it turns out that what was called “leftovers from the distant evolutionary past” is really essential repair materials that keep a living
cell alive. Oops!
Of course everyone “knows” that all those skulls in Africa are the final “proof” of the evolution from ape to man. But the press doesn’t report that many
unbelieving (in God) evolutionists disagree! As one put it, “Fossils are fickle. Bones will sing any song you want to hear.” Many evolutionists disagree
with the importance of these finds and label them as insignificant. It seems that the “missing link” is still missing!
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen,
being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks,
but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing to be wise, they became fools.
Perhaps it would be good for us to remember our Creator and honor Him!
