WORDS OF COURAGE
"Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill
the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both
soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a
penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside
your Father’s care. 30 And even the very hairs of your head
are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more
than many sparrows.  32 “Whoever acknowledges me before
others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in
heaven."
(Jesus, Matthew 10:28-32)

So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of
me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the
gospel, by the power of God. 10 It has now been revealed
through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has
destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light
through the gospel.
 (II Timothy 1:8-10)

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks
you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do
this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear
conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your
good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
(I
Peter 3:15-16)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in
every situation, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7
And the peace of God, which transcends all
understanding, will guard your hearts and
your minds in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:6-7)

Then they called them again and commanded
them not to speak or teach at all in the name
of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, “Which
is right in God’s eyes: to obey you rather than
God? You be the judges!
(Acts 4:18-19)

Therefore, among God’s churches we boast
about your perseverance and faith in all the
persecutions and trials you are enduring.  5
As a result you will be counted worthy of the
kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.
16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give
you peace at all times and in every way. The
Lord be with all of you.
(II Thessalonians 1:4-
5, 3:16)
13 As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. 14 And because of my
chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear....Yes, and I will
continue to rejoice, 19 for I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for
my deliverance. 20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be
exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
(Philippians 1:13-14, 18-21)
