PARADISE?  OR  HEAVEN?
          THE QURAN

The Believers, men and women, are
protector one of another: they enjoin
what is just, and forbid what is evil; they
observe regular prayers, pay Zakat
(poor taxes), and obey Allah and His
Messenger.  On them will Allah pour his
mercy; for Allah is Exalted in power,
Wise.  Allah has promised to Believers
~men and women ~ Gardens under
which rivers flow, to dwell therein, and
beautiful mansions in Gardens of
everlasting bless.   (Surah 9.71-72)

To those who do good, there is good in
this world, and the Home of the
Hereafter is even better and excellent
indeed is the Home of the righteous ~
Gardens of Eternity which they will
enter: beneath them flow (pleasant)
rivers; they will have therein all that
they wish: thus does Allah reward the
righteous.  (Surah 16.31)

For them will be Gardens of Eternity;
beneath them rivers will flow; they will
be adorned therein with bracelets of
gold, and they will wear green garments
of fine silk and heavy brocade: They will
recline therein on raised thrones.  How
good the recompense!  How beautiful a
couch to recline on!  As to those who
believe and work righteous deeds, they
have, for their entertainment, the
Gardens of Paradise, Wherein they shall
dwell (for ever); no change will they
wish for from them.  (Surah 18.31,
107-108)

Allah will admit those who believe and
work righteous deeds to Gardens,
beneath which rivers flow: they shall be
adorned therein with bracelets of gold
and pearls; and their garments there
will be o silk.  (Surah 22.23)

Gardens of Eternity will they enter:
therein will they be adorned with
bracelets of gold and pearls; and their
garments there will be of silk.  And they
will say:  "Praise be to Allah, who has
removed from us (all) sorrow: for our
Lord is indeed Oft-Forgiving ready to
appreciate (service); Who has, out of
His bounty, settled us in a Home that
will last: no toil or sense of weariness
shall touch us therein."  (Surah
35.33-35)

But the sincere servants of Allah ~ For
them is a Sustenance determined,
Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy)
honour and dignity, In Gardens of
Felicity, Facing each other on raised
couches:  Round will be passed to them
a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, a
Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to
those who drink (thereof).  Free from
headliness nor will they suffer
intoxication therefrom.

And besides them will be chaste women,
restraining their glances, with big eyes
(of wonder and beauty).  As if they were
(delicate) eggs closely guarded.  (Surah
37.40-49)

This is a Message and surely, for the
righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final)
Return ~ Gardens of Eternity, whose
doors will (ever) be open to them;
Therein will they recline (at ease):
therein can they call (at pleasure) for
fruit in abundance, and (delicious)
drink;

And beside them will be chaste women
restraining their glances, (companions)
of equal age.  Such is the Promise made
to you for the Day of Account!  Truly
such will be our Bounty (to you); it will
never fail ~ (Surah 38.49-54)

Among Gardens and Springs;   Dressed
in fine silk and in rich brocade, they will
face each other;   So; and We shall join
them to Companions with beautiful, big,
and lustrous eyes.  (Surah 44.52-54)

As to the Righteous, they will be in
Gardens, and in Happiness,-   Enjoying
the (Bliss) which their Lord hath
bestowed on them, and their Lord shall
deliver them from the Penalty of the
Fire.   (To them will be said:) "Eat and
drink ye, with profit and health, because
of your (good) deeds."

They will recline (with ease) on Thrones
(of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We
shall join them to Companions, with
beautiful big and lustrous eyes.  (Surah
52.17-20)

But for such as fear the time when they
shall stand before (the Judgment Seat
of) their Lord, there will be two Gardens
~ Then which of the favours of your
Lord will you deny?  Abounding in
branches ~ Then which of the favours of
your Lords will you deny?  In them
(each) will be two Springs flowing (free);
Then which of the favours of your Lord
will you deny?

In them will be Fruits of every kind, two
and two.  Then which of the favours of
your Lord will you deny?  They will
recline on Carpets, whose inner linings
will be of rich brocade; the Fruit of the
Gardens will be near (and easy of
reach).  Then which of the favours of
your Lord will you deny?

In them will be (Maidens), chaste,
restraining their glances, whom no man
or Him before them has touched ~

Then which of the favours of your Lord
will you deny?  Like unto rubies and
coral, Then which of the favours of your
Lord will you deny?  Is there any
Reward for Good ~ other than Good?
then which of the favours of your Lord
will you deny?

And besides these two, there are two
other Gardens ~ Then which of the
favours of your Lord will you deny?
Dark-green in colour (from plentiful
watering).  Then which o the favours of
your Lord will you deny?  In them
(each) will be two Springs pouring forth
water in continuous abundance:  Then
which of the favours of your Lord will
you deny?  In them will be Fruits, and
dates and pomengranates:  then which
of the favours of your Lord will you
deny?

In them will be fair (Damsels), good,
beautiful ~ Then which of the favours of
your Lord will you deny?  Damsels
restrained (as to their glances), in
(goodly) pavilions ~ Then which of the
favours of your Lord will you deny?
Whom no man or Jinn before them has
touched ~

Then which of the favours of your Lord
will you deny?  Reclining on green
Cushions and rich Carpets of beauty.
Then which of the favours of your Lord
will you deny?  Blessed be the name of
your Lord, full of Majesty, Bounty and
Honour.  (Surah 55.46-78)

(They will be) on couches encrusted
(with gold and precious stones),
Reclining on them, facing each other.
Round about them will (serve) youths of
perpetual (freshness), With goblets,
(shining) beakers, and cups(filled) out
of clear-flowing fountains; No after-ache
will they receive therefrom, nor will
they suffer intoxication.  And with fruits
any that they may select:  And the flesh
of fowls, any that they may desire.  And
(there will be ) Companions with
beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes ~ like
unto Pearls well-guarded.  A Reward for
the Deeds of their past (Life).  (Surah
56.15-24)

And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised
high.   We have created (their
Companions) of special creation.   And
made them virgin - pure (and
undefiled), -   Beloved (by nature), equal
in age,-  (Surah 56.34-37)

Verily for the Righteous there will be a
fulfilment of (the heart's) desires;
Gardens enclosed, and grapevines;
Companions of equal age.  (Surah
78.31-33)
                                                  BIBLE NEW TESTAMENT

So will it be with the resurrection of the dead…. it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
[
Tanakh, I Corinthians 15:42, 44]

At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. 3
And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an
emerald encircled the throne.

4 Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders.
They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 From the throne came flashes of
lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are
the seven spirits of God. 6 Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as
crystal.

In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front
and in back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face
like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. 8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was
covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:

“‘Holy, holy, holy
                                                     is the Lord God Almighty,’
who was, and is, and is to come.”

9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who
lives for ever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and
worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

“You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
                                                    for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
                                                        and have their being.”

6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by
the four living creatures and the elders. 7 He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who
sat on the throne. 8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell
down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which
are the prayers of God’s people. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll
                                                         and to open its seals,
                                                       because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language
                                                       and people and nation.

10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the
earth.”

11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten
thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a
loud voice they were saying:

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom
and strength and honor and glory and praise!”

13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that
is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne
                                                          and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
                                                        for ever and ever!”

14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.   (Tanakh,
Revelation 4:2 - 5:14)

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every
nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing
white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:

                                                  “Salvation belongs to our God,
                                                      who sits on the throne,
                                                         and to the Lamb.”

11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures.
They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying:

                                                                  “Amen!
                                                            Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
                                                      and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
                                                                  Amen!”

13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come
from?”  14 I answered, “Sir, you know.”

And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes
and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore,

“they are before the throne of God
                                          and serve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne
will shelter them with his presence.

                                                  ‘Never again will they hunger;
                                                    never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them,’
                                                      nor any scorching heat.
For the Lamb at the center of the throne
                                                      will be their shepherd;
‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”

(Tanakh, Revelation 7:9-8:5)

The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:

“The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,
and he will reign for ever and ever.”

16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and
worshiped God, 17 saying:

“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power
                                                    and have begun to reign.

(Tanakh, Revelation 11:15-17)

After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting:

"Hallelujah!  Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,
Praise our God,  all you his servants, you who fear him, both small and great!"

Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals
of thunder, shouting:

"Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory!

[Tanakh, Revelation 19:1, 5-7]

4 The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who was seated on
the throne. And they cried:

                                               “Amen, Hallelujah!”

5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying:

                                              “Praise our God,
                                                        all you his servants,
                                                         you who fear him,
                                                      both great and small!”

6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals
of thunder, shouting:

“Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad
                                                        and give him glory!

1 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away,
and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven
from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the
people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be
their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or
crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this
down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty
I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.

7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. 8
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice
magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is
the second death.”

9 One of the seven angels came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the
Lamb.” 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high.

11 It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper,
clear as crystal. 12 It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On
the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. 13 There were three gates on the east,
three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. 14 The wall of the city had twelve
foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its
walls. 16 The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod
and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long. 17 The angel measured the
wall using human measurement, and it was 144 cubits thick.

18 The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. 19 The foundations of the
city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second
sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite,
the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.

21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city
was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.

22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23
The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the
Lamb is its lamp.

24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On
no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. 26 The glory and honor of the
nations will be brought into it. 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is
shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

(
Tanakh, Revelation 21:1-27)

1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne
of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river
stood the
tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the
tree are for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be any curse.

The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4 They will see
his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no more night. They will not need the
light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for
ever and ever.

12 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what
they have done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go
through the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually
immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the
Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is
thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

"Amen. Come, Lord Jesus."
(
Tanakh, Revelation 21:1-5; 22:12-17)
