MY LORD, MY GOD, MY KING
By Guy B. Turpin ©2005

I wake up in the morning and my heart begins to sing.
If he don’t like it, we don’t do it.
My Lord, my God, my King.

He told me not to drink a lot and bring shame on his name.
If he don’t like it, we don’t do it.
My Lord, my God, my King.

He told me not to curse at all, or take His name in vain.
And if he don’t like it, we don’t do it.
My Lord, my God, my King.

He told me not to desire any other man’s things.
If he don’t like it, we don’t do it.
My Lord, my God, my King.

Before I lay me down to sleep and to me rest He brings,
I thank Him for His blessing ‘cause
He’s my Lord, my God, my King.

Chorus:
Jesus, yes Jesus is His name.
Jesus my Lord, my God, my King.
