THE SEVEN SEALS OF SALVATION

 (see also Zechariah 6:1-8)

JESUS IS PROPHET, PRIEST, KING, AND MAN

6:1-2    SEAL 1 - The WHITE horse rider wore a __________________ and went out as a _________________.

Revelation 19:11 says the rider of the white horse is who?  _____________________

Jesus will conquer the other "riders".

6:3-4    SEAL 2 - The RED horse rider held a _____________________ to take peace from the earth and make men slay each other.

Revelation 12:3 identified red with what?  ___________________  Revelation 20:2 says the dragon is who?  ___________

What will Jesus eventually do with the red dragon (Revelation 20:2)?  _____________________________________________

6:5-6    SEAL 3 - The BLACK horse rider held a pair of __________________________.

The word "black" is Greek for dirty.  Acts 22:16 says we need to wash away what kind of dirt?  _____________________

Inflated prices come from what that is the root of all sin (1 Timothy 6:10)?  ______________________________________

What will Jesus eventually do with unwashed sinners (Revelation 21:8)?  __________________________________________

6:7-8    SEAL 4 - The PALE horse rider rode out followed by _______________________ and __________________________.

The word "pale" is Greek for mildew/mold.  Haggai 2:17 says God struck man's material possessions with mildew as discipline.  Jesus said in Matthew 6:19-20 that what we store where cannot be thus destroyed?  _______________________

What will Jesus eventually do with Death and Hades (Revelation 20:14)?  ________________________________________

Therefore, these first four (earthly) seals represent The Word of God, Satan, Sin, and Materialism.

6:9-11  SEAL 5 - Through the history of mankind, there have always been martyrs.

They were given a ________________________ robe and told to wait a ______________________ longer for the other martyrs; but eventually they will be avenged.

What comfort to the Christians John was writing to who felt so helpless, and perhaps even wondered if God really did notice.  And how will he take vengeance?  Read on.

6:12-14 SEAL 6 - THE END OF THE WORLD:  The sun turned _______________________, the stars ________________________, and sky receded like a scroll ____________________________ up.  This was predicted 700 years earlier in 34:4:  All the stars of the heaven will be______________ _________________________ and the sky rolled up like a __________________________.  Hang on a little longer!  It WILL happen!

6:15-17 Men (not sons of God) cried to the rocks, "Fall on us and _____________________ us," for the great day of their

____________________________    had come and they knew it.

BELIEVERS OF O.T. & N.T. SAFE IN HEAVEN

7:1-3    BUT THE SAVED WILL BE SAFE IN HEAVEN:  The saved "have a seal."  But this noun (name) is actually a verb (action).  What is being sealed (see Ephesians 1:13)?  The promised Holy Spirit as a deposit ___________________________ our ________________________________ of eternal life in heaven.

7:4-8    Actually, ALLLLL the saved are safe in heaven:  Look at the chart on numbers and explain who the 144,000 means (12 x 12 x 1000).  ___________________________________________________________________________________________ (NOTE:  If we take the 144,000 literally, we have to take the fact that only Jews get to go to heaven literally).

7:9       Then John spells it out.  The saved are a great _______________________________ that no one could ________________.

7:13-14 How are our robes made white?  __________________________________________________________________________

7:15     Is serving God day and night literal (see 21:25)?  ___________________________
